This jewel tone image is part of the Reclamation series of paintings. In this current and ongoing series, I'm exploring the idea of the reclamation of these underwater places by showing how marine life slowly but surely makes the wrecks their home. These artificial reefs will eventually appear as if they’ve always been there. Given enough time, Mother Nature will persist. How we treat her will determine if we persist.
Description: This is a reproduction of an acrylic painting on wood panel. Cool deep cyan blues show the structure of the wreck in shadow while bold and bright pinks and oranges, flecks of yellow and white represent the abundance of marine life that call this incredible wreck their home.
